1. We drove a few dozen kilometers down dirt roads in southern Georgia to find an ancient cave city and a thermal bath. In the end, both were closed, but we got to see a few amazing villages that looked nearly untouched by time, not to mention some incredible scenery. I was driving for much of it, so I didn’t manage to get many photos, but I had to stop and check out this little church.

  2. The roads of northern Armenia are some of the most treacherous I have driven. But the ride offers some amazing views of the Lesser Caucasus.

  3. Street art near my apartment in Kyiv.

  4. Ukrainians gathered on Maidan for a rally in support of Crimeans who have come to Kyiv seeking refuge after Russia annexed Ukraine’s southern peninsula last month. Volunteers are helping hundreds of Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians find housing, work, and supplies as they try to adjust to life in the capital.

  5. Had a lot of fun making this little report on Ukrainian Fashion Week and how it is going forward despite the political crisis and Russia’s invasion of Crimea.

  6. Not everything in Ukraine is so heavy. Despite the ongoing political crisis and Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine’s chicest designers and style elite were out for this year’s Ukrainian Fashion Week. Kyiv has come back to life following last month’s deadly protests, with the city’s cultural calendar full once again. I was invited to spend some time backstage with this year’s models and designers, who were gracious enough to let me take a few photos. Here are a few of my favorites.

  7. Watch my JN1 report from Simferopol on the crisis in Crimea

  8. Hundreds surrounded a Ukrainian military installation in Simferopol, Crimea to thank soldiers for refusing to abandon their post in the face of growing Russian pressure.

  9. Crimean Tatars and other pro-Ukrainian activists held a rally against Russian occupation in Simferopol on International Women’s Day.

  10. "Self-defense" forces join pro-Russian activists during a march in Simferopol.

  11. Euromaidan self-defense forces in Kyiv

  12. Some people on YouTube, etc. say I’m not actually in Ukraine and the piano video was staged. Here it is again, making more beautiful music.
